Committee Duties by Position
The Chair Couple: serve as Chief Executive Officers, spokesperson, preside at meetings of the Operating Committee and General Membership, ensure that all Officers of the Operating Committee perform their duties.
The Vice-Chair Couple: serve as Secretaries of The Organization, and maintain and distribute minutes of all meetings, Bylaws, Policies and Procedures, and other records, preside at meetings and carry out duties of the Chair Couple in the case of vacancy.
The Finance Couple: serve as the Financial Officers of The Organization, receive, deposit and disburse funds, maintain appropriate fiscal records and perform all banking functions, ensure compliance with all requirements of the U.S. tax codes and requirements and to execute Annual Financial Statements and tax reports.
The Newsletter Couple: solicit contributions, edit, prepare, publish and distribute monthly newsletter, maintain and publish the Calendar of Events.
The Events Couple: Develop and coordinate COUPLES sanctioned events.
The Member Services Couple: administer membership services to Member Couples, including the maintenance of the General Membership roster, issue notice of membership renewals, contact non-renewing or nonparticipating Member Couples to encourage their participation, contact prospects who fail to become Member Couples for feedback, conduct a continuing marketing program for the recruitment of Member Couples, assure follow-up to inquiries received on the local web site, voice mail or by postal service.
The Web Services Couple: maintain The Organization's web site with current information and appropriate confidentiality, maintain and expand links to our web site from other gay-friendly sites, forward email inquiries to the Member Services Couple.
The Historian Couple: serve as Historians, archive historic records, photograph, prepare displays of and maintain photographic archives.
The At-Large Couple: act as greeters at COUPLES events, register visiting couples at COUPLES events and assign hosts to introduce them to CMD, fill any temporary vacancy on the Operating Committee until a suitable replacement is appointed.
