Visiting a Meeting

Some couples feel a little apprehensive about attending their first CMD activity, whether it be the Monthly Potluck, Appetizer, Desert or other event. These feelings are certainly normal. After all, you are most likely going to a stranger's home, and you may not know anyone there. Not to worry! We make every effort to make your first visit comfortable and enjoyable, and we feel sure that when the evening is over you will be very glad you came.

If you are interested in becoming members of Couples Metro Dallas, you may email the Membership Services couple to let them know of your interest in CMD. They will answer any questions you have and give you information about the next CMD event.  You may also download and complete the membership application form here.  The completed application along with membership dues can be mailed or given to an operating committee member at an event.

When you arrive at the Event, you will be greeted at the door by the Couple-at-Large who will give each of you a nametag for the evening. All members of CMD wear nametags identifying themselves and their partner. The Member Services couple will be on the lookout for you and will introduce you to other members and other visitors who may be attending. Members of the Operating Committee will also seek you out to say hello and soon you will be feeling much more at ease.

Events generally begin at 7 pm with an hour of socializing.  Then the Chair Couple will have a few brief announcements about upcoming events, and the Member Services Couple will recognize couples who are celebrating their anniversary and birthdays that month.  Guest couples will be introduced.

Every Event also has a 50/50 drawing. Tickets are $1 each, 6 tickets for $5. A winning ticket is drawn. Half of the proceeds go to CMD, and the other half goes to the couple with the winning ticket -- $110 is the largest winning so far.

Before you know it, the evening will be over and you will find that you have met some wonderful new couple friends.
